Coach Cunningham earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Bethel University, where he was a three-year letterman for the Wildcats football program. He later completed his Master’s degree in Leadership and Supervision from Bethel, further strengthening his foundation in education and program leadership.


Coach Cunningham began his coaching career as an assistant at Fayetteville Junior High before advancing to Cannon County. He then moved to Riverdale High School, where he helped guide the Warriors to a 13–1 season and a state semifinal appearance.


In 2018, Coach Cunningham joined Lincoln County High School. Before being named Head Coach, he served in multiple key roles including Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Line Coach, and Defensive Backs Coach. His diverse experience on both sides of the ball has shaped his comprehensive approach to player development and program building.


Coach Cunningham met his wife, Erinn, while attending college, and the two married in 2005. They have lived in Middle Tennessee for the past 20 years and are proud parents of two children, Reese (16) and Heath (12).
